Palacio Salvo is not only a "must see activity"; it is an "imposible not to see". This building is situated in front of the main square (Plaza Independencia) and is the symbol of Montevideo regularly used by publicists to represent Montevideo. Inaugurated in 1928, this building created by Italian architect Mario Palanti in an eclectic style with influences of gothic, classical and neo-romanticism was once the highest building in South America.
